Our new 2025–30 strategy is here!

We are delighted to launch our new 2025–30 strategy.

We want to create a society where everyone receives the help they need; where our rights are respected and grown; and where we can all actively shape the systems that affect our lives. We believe that the law is an essential tool to help realise these social justice goals.

We know that the legal system is too often used to oppress rather than defend those who need it most. Through our 2025–30 strategy, we want to strengthen the power of communities to use and shape the law to achieve justice and equity.

We want to work in solidarity with a community of organisations who are committed to joining us on this journey. Our new open grants programme aims to create connections between the law and communities facing injustice. It’s made up of two funds, Emerging Justice and Strengthening Justice.

We’re also continuing to run the Justice First Fellowship, our scheme supporting the next generation of social justice lawyers, and to host Justice Together, a funder collaboration focusing on access to justice in the immigration system.

Changes to our brand

We have refreshed our brand and website to better reflect the work we do and the work we want to fund. As part of this change, our name is now LEF.

Thank you
We’re hugely grateful to all the grant partners and sector colleagues who helped us develop our new strategy through surveys and consultations as well as to our strategy advisory panel, who played a crucial role in the process.
